I am a native of Colorado, born and raised in the City of Denver. I made the decision to share my personal story of survival, with the hope and prayer that others who are facing challenges in their lives will know that it is possible to conquer and defeat many of those challenges we so often come up against, by first realizing the importance of striving to maintain a positive mindset and strong will to persevere through many of the battles we are forced to deal with.
The first key to defeating many of the battles we are challenged with is through our attitude and perception of the situation. How we choose to perceive any given situation we encounter is truly what determines how severe of an impact such a matter will have on our lives.
I was once a victim of defeat before realizing I had the ability to conquer my own destiny through prayer, faith and belief that life would improve. I had to learn to empower my own self-will, refusing to allow my negative thoughts to consume my mind and cause me to feel I was not worthy of the positive and joy-filled lifestyle I desired to live. I grew to realize I had a purpose that was larger than any problem that came against me and now I'm happy to testify that my purpose is being served. Sometimes we have to survive the storms to gain some degree of understanding.
“Be of good courage (Psalm 31:24 KJV)", believe in your very own destiny and strive to conquer and defeat the barriers that threaten to block us. I stand strong before you in sharing my personal testimony to encourage you to draw the line in the sand as I've learned to do. We must recognize and learn to break through those chains of bondage that seem to effortlessly keep the pattern of vicious cycles revolving in our lives.
My son Quincey once stated, “Too many people in this world live to simply exist, rather than living to feel alive”, and I've found this statement to be right on point. So, I challenge each of you to find your purpose in life, develop some goals to chase and live the abundant life that you are entitled to.
God Bless,
